Pyncheon

Pyncheon bantams are believed to be an age old breed, originating in the United States back in...
Pros: Great little birds! Good foragers, cold hardy (except for the roo's big combs), broody, and good little egg layers
Cons: If they get scared, they are loud!
Very difficult to find quality birds.
Wonderful, rare, historical little birds. They need more breeders!

Pros: A wonderful old, American, heritage breed that doesn't have alot of serious breeders. Great homestead Bantam for the small farm/backyard.
Cons: Too few breeders, too few quality birds, many have the wrong leg and earlobe color and most are way too white..esp. hens after second molt.
I love to see that other breeders and poultry fans are taking an interest in the breed.

Pros: I love Ms Elizabeth Taylor she's very sweet and loving and wants to be held all the time. Which I don't mind
Cons: The only thing is her feet they are the wrong color..
I got her the day Elizabeth Taylor died so I thought it fitting to name my new hen after her. She is beautiful like Elizabeth Taylor. I love my little Ms Elizabeth and I am glad I got her. She is different and unique like Pyncheons are and I wouldn't have it any other way.

She's gotten whiter with every molt but she still has some of the mille fluer coloring......

Cons: a little noisy
I bought 22 chicks @ $88 for day old straight run. Lost 7 in the first week, all small pullets. The chicks are three weeks old now. Several are showing more white than I expected. Nothing I read, said anything about birds Trilling. But they started trilling (type of singing) at two weeks old. Very sweet personallities.
