I definitely don't like how short it is. But, it keeps temp really well. I tend to overstuff my incubators, so for me the turner wasn't an issue as I just did it myself. I do put something over the bottom to help with how slick it is.
I tend to just transfer eggs or newly hatched babies to...
The Muscovy eggs are from my own birds, but the Chantecler eggs were bought at an in-person auction (local eggs) and I had to drive them home. Very poor results from those eggs, only 5 had any development, and only 3 made it to lock down.
Here's a question for y'all: I currently have both Muscovy eggs and chicken eggs hatching. Both these sets were originally hand turned in the MeeF, but transferred to the Maticoopx for several days before lockdown, using the horizontal turners in it. Half the eggs pipped at the wrong end...
1- No Leghorns. And they don't have enough meat on them :P That's what the Chantecler will be for next year, eggs and meat.
2- I actually prefer to let the females hatch those out themselves.
3- Too young to lay yet.
I put another bunch of Silkie Mix eggs in (17, but they are a bit old). I...
No countdown, use your calendar (which I know you already do). And yes it was set higher (for some reason they have it preset at 100.something). If the alarm goes off, press the down arrow to turn it off. And... that's all I can remember off the top of my head. :)
I don't think you could PAY me to get that!!!
Wait, no, if I got paid I'd use it.. Once.
And why do I keep seeing "malfunctional" instead of "multifunctional"?
Once these eggs are hatched, I may move my Chantecler eggs over to it. Although, I have more duck eggs due for lockdown on Friday...
I NEED MORE INCUBATORS!!!
...the way.
I also tossed in the last of the power outage survivor duck eggs and 2 of those are out.
At this point, I think I like the Maticoopx for *hatching*, due to more headroom, but prefer the MeeF for incubating.
The one thing I dislike about the MeeF is the little 'shelf' around the...
I would never pay that for a rabbit, but would be happy to take the money! :lau
They had a bottle-fed goat kid there. Online ads sell those for between $100-200. This one went for around $400 I think! Just shook my head...
I'm new at auctions, but I've seen a lot of them in videos. I...
