Hi y’all, new to turkeys and was wondering what you guys think of this one? Super polite and curious with no aggression, no strutting, and no gobbling. Hatched on March 5th so almost 4 months old and is a Narragansett.
Hi all, so yesterday my little champagne silkie was attacked by a dog. She has two relatively large wounds on her back and was in a state of shock. We cleaned the wounds with saline and then used blukote. She’s alert, eating, drinking, and standing up in her pen. However, I noticed her abdomen...
One of our little silkies started sneezing about a week ago. Didn’t think much of it cause it was infrequent. Now she’s sneezing constantly. Other than the sneezing she’s fine - eating, drinking, foraging, no ocular or nasal discharge. She also seems to be the only member of the flock displaying...
Hi all, so about an hour ago a hawk attacked my birds while I wasn’t home. Our one silkie got hurt the worst and received this large laceration above the tailhead. I have clipped the area, cleaned it with saline, and applied TAB. While I do work at a vet, they do not see birds and there are no...
I’m not quite sure where to get soldier fly larvae but i can head to the pet store tomorrow to see if they have any. I’m just worried since i’m giving corid that giving her vitamins would defeat the purpose no? I don’t think she’s molting either, she hasn’t lost any feathers and doesn’t show any...
She’s been like this for 5 days now i think. Her crop is a bit squishy in the morning but she doesn’t have the sour crop smell and nothing was release from her crop when i tried to empty her :/
I posted on here a few days ago about one of my hens that had stopped eating/drinking, laying, was lethargic, and was having watery yellow stool. This was a few days ago, she is still the same today. I was told to give dewormer and corid which i have done for three days now with no improvement...
So about her, we rescued her a little less than a year ago so she's been with us for a while. I have consulted with more people who have also said it might be coccidiosis so I'm probably going to give her some corid. I have had a bird in the past who had egg peritonitis with ascites and would...
My bird has been acting lethargic for about 3 days now, prior she was just fine. Vent is clean, she’s not pale, but she refuses to move much (preferring to sleep in place), hasn’t been eating or drinking, and hasnt been laying eggs. She was a rescue but we believe she is fairly young. Any...
Yeah that’s what i’m doing right now. That and giving it bread that’s been soaked in electrolyte water. My friend said there was no mama bird in sight for hours and it was around 90 degrees F today. We did call multiple exotic vets but they weren’t very helpful.
Honestly, not idea. I’m afraid that if it’s a starling and I take it to a rehab center that they will kill it. Me picking this dude up was just kind of a last minute thing
My friend found this nestling sitting outside all day. There’s no nest around and it seems dehydrated. I was thinking this is either a robin or starling. The only feather it has are almost black in color. Any ideas?
I stopped into a feed store today and saw these two sad looking birds sold as 1/3 of the chick price. They’re in rough shape and very flighty. I was told that they’re 7 weeks old and pullets. Any ideas?
I just noticed my pigeon is making weird noises. When we first got him i heard him sneezing a lot but I posted about it on facebook and they said not to give antibiotics. This most definitely sounds respiratory though. Can anyone confirm and have any medicine recommendations with dosages?
Need help rehoming a tiny rooster named Moomin who is a true blue d’Uccle. He’s a pet so only giving to homes that wont slaughter. Cute little guy, got him from Jersey Chickens with a silkie so he was vaccinated for Mareks. In the central Jersey area.
