So far no one else has anything hatching right now, but between her stuffed toy & a little mirror she seems pretty content. Once she's off heat I'll try integrating her with the silkies in the heated garage. They're pretty laid back. Hoping it's a pullet as well.
Well after 24 hours, nothing from two of the remaining three eggs. I float tested them and no movement, both bobbing on the top so I am assuming they were late quitters. The third egg (the one I added a couple days late) however is rocking and chirping so I am hopeful I will have a second chick...
Day 14 for me, 4/5 looking good. 1 looks to be an early quitter, I removed it and performed an Eggtopsy.
It was iffy on day 7 but I chose to let it go since I wasn't sure & there was no smell.
When I had chicks last year they were brooded in the house for 5 weeks (in my front hall actually lol) and then moved to a baby pen in my heated garage until spring. They were real pets by the end.
