I can tell you first generation crosses with a silkie will result in normal feathers. Learned that one last year. As for colors my guess would be they would carry the roos coloring as I think the white is recessive, but don't quote me on that because color genetics are not my strong point.
lol Yes, he's a very big boy...lol Very heavy. But he's a good roo. He's very protective of his girls and lets them eat first and he's pretty much a gentle man. The only problem I have is he has just started trying to bully my Spitz roo from the other coop when I let them out to range together...
My big roo has a huge comb and it looks like the tippy top of about three of his got frostbite. This is him:
I need to put up some new pics of some of my little mixes, it's been a while....lol
That's what I like, they are all so different and there's an element of surprise. I like pures too and would like a few more, but I can't imagine breeding all of one breed and having a variety. To each their own, it just bores me...lol I'd have to have a large farm dedicated to chickens so I...
That's what I love about mixes, the surprise of what they will look like. My youngest are almost 9 weeks and I'm still curious about what they will look like fully grown...lol
Congrats on the little ones.
He's the only roo I have that is like that. He's fine with the my other roo that is in that coop, just likes to attack people. I hatched and reared him and he's just a bad name I can't say here..lol
I ended up with 5 nns last hatch, including my nn/silkie plus my original nn/ee hen. My nn roo is on his way out the door for being overly aggressive. I also have 4 silkie hens. If the nn/silkie would only turn out to be a roo, I'd be happy....lol
