Because DE is so bulky, it is often best to buy it online, but from someone who is geographically close to you, due to high shipping costs. Freshwater Organics sells 50 lb bags for $19 - $25 per bag, but shipping can cost more than that if you are too far from Utah. But if you are within UT, or...
I'm glad you find them interesting. There is a tremendous amount of disinformation and misunderstanding regarding DE. I do not work for a company that mines DE, but I have used it and sold it for nearly 15 years, as I have stated in previous posts. I have done more research on DE than most...
With logic like this, one might think it necessary to flood your home in order to wash your face. FYI, it is possible to dust the entire plant and then any bug that crawls on it or lands on it will come in contact with the DE...
Not only is it possible, but that is the only way that a logical...
This is an ignorant post. Do MORE research, especially organic, food grade, amorphous silica. There are many dangerous sources of diatomaceous earth, but Perma Guard DE is not one of them. http://www.freshwaterorganics.com
Kim, you may have gotten ahold of some DE that is either laced with arsenic (which most of the non-food grade mines are) or one that is crystaline silica (generally used for industrial purposes). ALL of the sites I have been to warn that NOT ALL DE IS THE SAME, and goes on to explain the risks...
$30 for a BROKEN bag??? Good grief... I sell undamaged bags for $25... $19 in quantity.
If anyone in this forum wants Fossil Shell Flour, I'd be happy to sell it to them for $25 a bag and my actual shipping costs. You can email me for shipping costs -

I read the article. I am not sure what date is was written, but there are several errors in it. To begin with, there are over 25,000 types of DE - not 8,000 as stated.
In addition, the paper is discussing and comparing insecticides.
There is an article on my website, specifically discussing...
There seems to be a lot of misconceptions about DE. Years ago, I put together the most comprehensive site on the Internet on food-grade DE. Most of the sites out there have copied stuff from my site. Anyway, check it out and it will answer all your questions.

You could actually just make a small well (2' x 2' x 4" deep) in the sand and put 2 - 3 lbs in it. They will eat some and mix up the rest. They can take a dust bath in straight DE and it won't hurt them a bit. But be sure to use food-grade, organic, pure diatomaceous earth.
Also, if you mix it...
