3rd night in a row that her crop has been empty at night and during the day she seems to peck around but not truly interested in eating.... I have no idea why she suddenly has had a drop in health!
I've got 3 beautiful hens that are my chicken world.but i'm concerned about my americauna hen these last few days, she has not laid an egg in about 5 days I could guess. The first 2 days she was out free ranging but has always laid in her nesting box, and I've kept the girls kept up the last 3...
I see what they mean about plum color, I just think everyone understand red better when we are talking terminology. My definite roo rocky is just now turning "red" on his comb and waddles. And as for my "hen?" I noticed the slightest reddening on her waddles. I don't know if hens can have red...
ok guys, i'm truly at a loss on this bird! My blue silkie is 25 Weeks old, try I have had no crowing, and no eggs! Someone please tell me what he/she is!
please note that the blue is the one on the left in the pic (next too my definite rooster) thanks in advance!
You would think that my roo being the only guy in the flock would crow already....i can't wait to hear his crow! Flocks not compete with out a rooster crow. I guess I can wait 4 more Weeks ;) he's not going anywhere
I've got a 20 wk rooster who still hasn't started crowing. What's the latest age your roo has crowed?
I know its definitely aroo bc he has long pin feathers on his head and his comb is bump y and starting to turn red.
My roo is 15 Weeks and still has his baby voice. Waiting on puberty lol my hen that's the same age already has her big girl voice so I guess it depends on the chicken
The waiting game is killing me! I'm 100 percent sure my blue is aroo and 90 percent sure the splash is a girl. But come on and crow already if your a boy! Anyone else going a Lil nuts?
When I knew I was going to write a thread about this subject I kind of giggled like a young school girl in sex Ed class....something's we don't talk about but this is important. One of my flock members had been pooping a very very dark colored stool.turning black once dry and I'm concerned that...
Just curious.... at what age does a roo start crowing? This is my blue chick I call "foxy Roxy" however "Roxy's" comb is much much larger than my splash's comb...fair to say I might need to change it's name to "rocky"?
I've had my shareof different breeds of chickens over the years. From RIR's, Sussex, EE's, new hampshires, sexlinks,GLW, and many mix breeds. However, none have attached to my heart as my silkies have. LSAT night while putting my 6 week silkies back inside for the night loretta my splash decided...
my ducklings never did that! Lol I still had the original drake for the ducklings and its like they figured it out eventually.... Even became a small duck heard around the yard. But they would all go up in the coop with the chickens at night. No problem on my end and I had pekin ducks which can...
Thanks! That's what I'm afraid of....the larger one should be 6 Weeks then and the other one is a tad younger....i guess I need to plug up the brood light again:/ bummer!
