Just an update to explain our drop off the face of the internet and end of this thread. My husband was killed shortly after my last post. We lost everything. Our home, farm, animals, everything. We haven’t been ready to start over for the past few years, but now we can’t wait to find a new home...

We just love watching the chicks hatch. It never gets old. If ever there's a chance to watch a chick hatch out, the kids and I are right there watching and cheering the little chickie on LOL

Haha yep, we breed them smart here at Martin Farm. I don't just homeschool the kids. I homeschool the chicks too :P

Could be from temperature spikes, but I'm pretty sure I didn't have temp spikes this hatch. I had lower humidity drops during my dry incubation and the other issues I had are common with low humidity I believe.

Can you apply 'boots' after a week? Or is it too late by then? I only just got a chance to closely inspect all of my chicks and noticed one has a couple crooked curly toes. I've had a few chicks hatch with one 'problem' or another that suggest too low a humidity, so I suspect the dry incubation...

Omgoodness, so many adorable chicks!!! I bet the judges are going to find it sooooo hard to pick just one as a winner :)

It's a possibility. I have since found out that there are more than one type of cocci and not all chicks show blood in their poo. I plan to find out if our local ag department offer necropsies at all.

Yep, totally creepy. We moved away before the restraining order ran out and didn't update our address, to avoid being found again. The accident was my almost 5yo with too much affectionate love for the chickie. I walked off to do something quickly and didn't supervise properly. Loved to death...
