    8 week old chick issue

He could have some hatchery disease if they came from a hatchery, or have mareks disease if they werent vaccinated. I would...

    "Ameracaunas" on Craigslist

Hi Guys! I am looking for chickens on craigslist. I want an EE, but there are none. Ameracaunas come up. I read about what distinguishes an ee from an Ameracauna, but in the photo i cant see the hen's legs that distinguish it from an Ameracauna or EE. If it is an EE or it really is an...

    What is this golden chicken?

I don not think they are buff orpingtons. Buff orpingtons have a bigger build because they are dual purpose birds, they can be used for meat. I think they are golden comets/nuggets. It depends on how much they lay. Golden comets/nuggets lay 1 egg a day, and a buff orpington lays about 5-4 eggs a...

Purchased a Delaware hen think it might be a rooster!

It definately looks like a rooster! It has feathers on it's neck like a rooster, in that drapy way. It has a big comb and long legs and a skinny build. If it walks around like it's a rooster and takes charge of the flock, then it is definately a rooster. :/

    Coyotes and chickens

Those are really good ideas! Thank you! I am only getting 3 chickens and plan to make a PVC pipe movable run with a tunneling skirt. Would that work with an electrical fence, or would i have to make a permanent non climbable electric run?
