Hi Guys!

I am looking for chickens on craigslist. I want an EE, but there are none. Ameracaunas come up. I read about what distinguishes an ee from an Ameracauna, but in the photo i cant see the hen's legs that distinguish it from an Ameracauna or EE. If it is an EE or it really is an ameracauna, are they good birds to have in a flock? I am going to have a small flock of 3 birds, 2 silkies and preferably 1 EE. Would Ameracaunas be good in a small flock too?

(Sorry if this is innthe wrong category, I didnt know where to put it:rolleyes:);):D

If the seller is spelling it "Ameracauna," it is an Easter Egger. If the misspelling of Ameraucana is yours and it turns out (however unlikely) to be a true Ameraucana, they will do just fine in a mixed flock. The only difference is that your eggs will all be blue. With the EEs, you will get eggs in different colors. For breeding purposes, a true Ameraucana would be better as EEs are hybrids and do not breed true.
