I have two extra 8 week old roos for sale. Black Copper marans direct from Buddy Henry. Very large birds for their age. I have already chosen the two that I will be keeping for breeding and hopefully showing. Pick up only 25.00 each. Nice healthy birds.
The pics are of two of my babies, T Rex is the little roo although he is huge and already trying to crow, then my little pullet she has abit more color than I would of liked but maybe some will molt out. I am hopeing T rex turns out nice enough to show.
Soun more like a rough croak but so cute, he is already getting a little aggressive though. I hope he settles down, he is my most promising roo for breeding so far. The other three are still smaller with a few white feathers in the wing, could they molt out to black as an adult?
I cannot believe I finally have my BC chicks atleast four hopefully seven or more. They are big chick and fiesty already. I will get pics and post then today. I am so happy.
It started two days after hatch, he eats and drinks still but he is really breathing heavy and cheeping alot he sounds like he has a sore throat, I seperated him with the runt and put duramyicin in the drinking water. I think I took him out of the incubator to soon and he chilled. Any other ideas.
Is it normal for them to be so big , two had trouble hatching because they were so huge,I had to help them. They seem finetoday but I have three more that have pipped yesterday early but have not hatched, is this normal for the breed?
Thy are marans and huge, but the first one bled when it hatched but seems fine now and the second one has some thing like a blister on the back of its neck they have huge dinasour feet:lol:
Chicks have pipped around 9:00 am not much progress, I have to set on my hands I want to help. I know I have to wait 24 hours, I know they will be ok, humidity between 70% and 80%. These are my marans I am so worried. I wish they would pop out.
My temp is down to 98.0 wafer must be failing, and i only have two vent holes open, forced air sportsman, I am afariad to change anything since they are starting to hatch today which is day 21, what do you think? Humidity is upto 70% since i started misting through the bottom vent hole.
It is working I placed the water tray behind the intake vent holes and covered it so the air has to come across the water to ener the incubator, my humidity has risen ten points in a half hour I hope it can go to atleast 60% they are due to hatch tomorrow so I may already be to late, but atlast...
