    White silkie/ Wheaton game hen

I've allowed my (what i think is) a Wheaton game hen to hatch out some eggs. She was covered by my white silkie roo. These are the product. Two are much lighter in color than the dark ones. It will interesting to see what they feather out like.

    Help

The little one made it through the night and the stump is much more absorbed. It is still very weak and not standing. Any thoughts on what I can do to give it a chance? I've read sugar water or baby vitamins can help.

    ADVICE!! Chicks hatched!!

Thank you so much for the reply! I'm leaning that direction. Right now she's still sitting but the chicks are staying under her. I'll move her back to coop in the large crate and create a seperator from the rest of the flock for now I think. I just don't want to keep them away from the others...

    ADVICE!! Chicks hatched!!

My polish cross has been sitting on five Cochin laid eggs. I wasn't very optimistic they would hatch but lo and behold two baby chicks tumbled out from under her this afternoon! I moved her the unmatched eggs and the babies into a crate for now. Should I keep her separate from the other...

    mareks diagnostic

Im curious about options for post mortem testing for mareks. Ive seen where they do necropsey. But I saw at Texas University they do testing on just liver or blood samples. What is the accuracy of these tests? Im trying to educate myself on this disease. Anyone have experience with any of these...

    Hen or Roo??

It makes a quiet ittle baby peep. And the age is a guess.. Its just strange how the others dont really want anything to do with it.

    First Egg Countdown

Not sure what the breeding is. A cross of some sorts. He had a ton of EEs and EE crosses so thats what Im assuming this one is. Yes he/she is missing tail feathers. I dont see any signs of mites and its not infected looking it just looks like they have been plucked out. It was in with a bunch...

    Hen or Roo??

Someone said it looks to be 8-9 weeks old possibly, thats a guess though. The guy I got this and the other two from said he was pretty sure it was a hen but he wasnt positive. He was very nice and said he would gladly exchange if he turned out wrong. This little guy is pretty bold and not too...

    First Egg Countdown

Hope this is a good enough pic. Thanks for the insight. The guy was really nice and didnt lie. He was up front that he was pretty sure about sexing but if he had made a mistake he would gladly exchange. I hate to send him back if he is a roo as conditions were really bad, but I have my silkie...

    the sultan thread

Thanks for your input. I was curious about her being a cross. The blue ears made me wonder. The lady who gave her to me said she was a Sultan but the ears are blue. So with a silkie roo i could possibly get chicks that were more silkie? Cool! I have an incubator I can get my hands on maybe once...
