    What did my hen lay???

My hen has been acting a bit off today. She's a bit lethargic....almost weak. She's up and moving, eating and drinking. She's moving slow and laying in weird places or standing in one spot for longer periods of time. I brought her inside, gave her an Epsom salt soak, some egg and yogurt mixed...

    Lethargic hen - Egg Bound???

So yesterday, one of my hens started acting a bit lethargic. She seems weak, but she's eating and drinking. She's walking a bit slow and laying in random places. I gave her some extra calcium and an epsom salt soak for fifteen minutes. I put her in a crate with some pine shavings. Her poop...

I laid linoleum down in the bottom of my coop and then I usually use cardboard, because it's easy clean up....any other suggestions? I don't have a large coop...custom built.

Hen with a broken toe...me thinks

So on Saturday, I noticed a bloody footprint in the snow. I only have a flock of five...so it was pretty easy to figure out who was bleeding. I picked up Henrietta and brought her in. We cleaned up the wound which appeared to be a slice across her three toes...nothing too deep. We did that...

Dog attacked my hen...what do I do

Tonight my sweet Money Penny flew the coop and my pooch got ahold of her. It doesn't seem that anything is broken. She is stressed. He pulled out quite a few feathers and left a large wound on her back. I cleaned everything up with soap and water and some peroxide. I coated the wounds in...
