It's been almost impossible to get pics of them individually without holding them and remembering who is who :)
Here is #1
#2
#3
#4
Again, I know these aren't the best pics. May try to get some more later today. They are 15 weeks old today (pics were a couple days ago).
I posted when my chicks were only a week or two old. I'm still wondering about them. I have 4 lavender orpingtons & not sure if I have 4 girls or 2 girls & 2 boys. I will also post a pic of one that a friend bought from me in the same batch.
I bought all my latest babies straight run and in the brooder right now I have 4 Lavender Orpingtons. They are cute as can be but I can't help but wonder if the difference I see in one of them means it will be a roo. They are only a week old and know I'm getting ahead of myself but can't help...
Gapey - Have they started laying yet? Curious to see egg color!! I have two that are supposed to be BCMs that have the copper coloring on their backs like Molly did. Here are the three of mine - 3.5 weeks old:
#1
#2 (not sure what the white feathering is about?)
#3 (no feathers on...
I bought them from a local store and I believe they originally came from Cackle. They are supposed to be pullets and I suppose only time will tell. The white feathers on one of the brown ones just started coming in yesterday. There have been pages where I see that sometimes brown or white...
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they think about these 3 chicks. They were all supposed to be BCMs but their coloring is really different.
Here they are as a couple days old - two of them were really black and have feathered feet:
Then here's the one that had a little more...
This was free from a local store and was in the "mix" box. Just curious what you all think...
This was at a couple days old (chipmunky looking one):
And here at about 3.5 weeks:
Any other tell tale signs that I could post pics of?
I'm sure I could, but I'm fairly confident in being able to build one within my timeframe. As long as the weather is descent I should be able to be out there pretty much all day every day.
We do have a large dog crate but it is currently being used by our pup. He may be able to be out of it in a couple weeks, though. No basement and coop isn't built yet. Starting to think I'm way over my head!!
