my original post said something about a badger, but i was just sure that a GH couldnt be hairless like that.. (especially since i thought it was the same one as the second pic i posted, which i then realized it wasnt)..

well, we have just found out it is definitely NOT the same groundhog. We saw Molly (the one WITH fur, from my second pic) outside the den about an hour ago... obviously the bald one is a different GH...

i noticed that too, but it looked the same about 3 days ago when i last saw it (with fur, at least).. thats a lot of scratching off its fur in a couple days...

im sure i could call the NJ Div of F&W and see what they have to say. I might even email them the pic... i would have also though that mange would take longer than a couple days to do that..
of course, this is "assuming" its the same one that was there before.. i have attached the other GH...
but thats just it, she (think its a she) IS acting normal.. looking for food, etc.. how can she lose all her hair in like 2 or 3 days tops?

we thought that maybe it has Scabies (saw a pic of one with scabies and it looked similar to this).. but the weird thing is, it was full of fur not 3 days ago.. (literally - if it's the same one)... and it seems to be acting normal like a typical groundhog does... (foraging, etc)
