I am about to butcher 2 silkie roo's along with a polish roo, and 2 buff orph x easter egger roos tomorrow morning. I've tried giving the silkies away several times so I figured we'd just try eating them. They are aweful looking as far as silkie's go and mean to boot. I'll post later how it goes :).
I have a buff colored silkie roo and a black cochin bantam hen that I'm thinking about breeding. I'm just curious what the outcome would be. Anyone have any?
I have 3 dozen eggs in my bator and the first hatched about 10min ago and looks great. Just now a second one hatched but quite a lot if yellow goo came out with him. He also looks like he may have some kind of growth on his head. He hatched stong and fast and is acting normal for a freshly...

I was just wondering if anyone had pictures of full grown TS Silkies. I got a few today from their assorted bantam bin, and just wondering what to expect. I had one silkie roo from a private breeder a few yrs ago but he was the only silkie I've ever had. I'm guessing these guys will all be buff...
Thank you for replying! He started eating and drinking the next day. I was so hopeful, as he seemed to be improving a lot but unfortunately he did not make it. I woke up to him dead out of no where. Live and learn I guess.
My grown chickens do that a little bit. They are always all together during the day, but when they roost at night they roost in pairs according to when we got them. So, the older birds roost together and the younger birds roost together. Not by color though....
We just hatched a few chickens for the first time in a homemade incubator. Everything was going great throughout the incubation and on day 21 4 healthy chicks hatched out normally. On the evening of day 21 another egg pipped with just a little progress by morning of day 22. By afternoon on day...
