OK, so I am going to build a run onto my coop.. going to about 4' front to back, probably 6' high and as far as it is to my lemon tree.
hardware cloth comes in 4' height... biggest I have found anyway... so do most people make their run and do "frames" every four feet, running the 4' width...
thats my one regret as I look at it...not making the roof wider on the sides... it overhangs a bit... but not a lot... by the time I noticed... too late!
hey thanks! yeah... I think trying to forecast everything can just lead to spinning heads...
I might just make some "fowl weather panels to have over the vents in the bad weather.
caveman... THANKS!
I am gonna have it on at night the first few days I think just for adjustment purposes...
What about those vents? Too big? I worry that in any wind, it will just whip through.. BUT the floor is like 4' below them, and roost like 3 below the vents... I thought in our...
Got the coop done!
6x4 on legs, about 40" off the ground... run underneath... will add more run once the next project is done...
Ramp to underneath.... Once we add more run we will do a side door. Nest boxes in front down the road... with a little door.
Chickens are at least 4 weeks...
I cut the floor hatch...they can use it now... and I can close it up saved the piece... when space allows and I can expand their run... run them out the side... right now it isnt an option.
I will do the across the back roost...! I like that idea. and add 2 nest boxes on the Right side...
2 chickies in that one...? so one long roost along the back... I am edging towards that, as it will give me 1' ish per bird... be easy for poo boards...
ok. 5 chicks... they are outgrowing their brooder, and temps are mild here... so they need to go out.
I am building a 6' wide 4' front to back coop.
3' off the ground for under coop run/feeder space. Run will be expanded this summer as they grow, and I finish a project clearing some...
