    Chicken run surface

    I'm just about done farming my son's coop and run. Right now the ground is grass but from what I understand, the grass won't last long. Any advice on what the ground should consist of? I've seen sand, hay, etc. is it just a personal preference or are some better than others? Thank you, Ed
