Well, we do give them meal worms occasionally. I might try to add more protein though...........seems like that might be the problem.

Wouldn't they feel the pepper spray on their feet though?

Ok. We usually close the doors of the coop after the chickens have been to the nest box once each. What's confusing is they all end up on the perch at night. So I know they aren't sleeping in them. Could it be that I'm not letting them out early enough?
