    Rooster acting strange

Hi, My Light Sussex Rooster (Whitey) has been standing around with his tail feathers drooped and occasionally flicking his head for the last 2 days. We have had very hot weather so I thought maybe he wasn't coping with the heat…..any suggestions on what you think could be the problem...

    Duck has sore eye :-(

just thought I'd give a quick update - 'Daisy the Duck' seems to be on the mend - I washed it with the saline as suggested and it has cleared up quite a bit - not as irritated. I didn't see anything in there however it was inflamed and had some skin over the corner of her eye (if that makes...

    Duck has sore eye :-(

@Miss Lydia - thanks so much - I will do the saline and see if that works. @sunflour - I did take a closer look and her actual eye is quite red but didn't have my glasses on so couldn't see if there was anything in there. Once I've got the saline ready I'll get a good look at it (with...

thanks Amiga - I'm not overly worried about the little ones drowning, they are actually quite big and they splash around all day in the pond with the big ones….it's the mess that is driving me crazy. I haven't got sawdust pellets, where do I get them from? I have just put the wood shavings down...

Broody chicken taking Broody Pekin Ducks eggs

@ oldhenlikesdogs, have you had two broody hens side by side before without anything between them? This is how my girls have situated themselves….I'm a bit worried it'll be overcrowded once they all hatch (12 ducks and 12 chics)…albeit they won't be at the same time

Broody chicken taking Broody Pekin Ducks eggs

thanks for the feedback CTKen, definitely food for thought. THey all usually live in the same house so I'm thinking I might create two large nesting boxes in the house and move their nests over so they are separated….will that be ok do you think?
