It's a scratch, layer feed that I give them-
New Country Organics Soy-Free, Corn-Free Layer Feed. I soak it and they get 1/2 cup each daily. They're not hungry, I can tell by how they eat.
They have enough water and I've watched to make sure they're all getting water.
There's really not...
I had 3 hens laying 2-3 eggs a day over a week they stopped laying any.
A week later I got 4 more “currently laying” hens- they have laid no eggs since I got them.
currently I have 7 hens and get 1 egg a day.
they have water and oyster shells(started this 5 days ago) whenever they want...
It has been windy and well below freezing at my house the past week or so, and I've noticed already that my two rosters are getting bad frostbite on their combs. I tried more ventilation and less, neither seemed to help, I'm trying even less tonight, it has pretty good air flow I think and they...
Take that rost out and put a new one in, leave it at the same height and simply extend the new one and turn it out away from the left hand side of the wall more.
The windows only open from the bottom. I'm thinking I will keep the south side window open, but is it bad that they will have that wind blowing in on them when they are rosting?
Agreed with above. My chickens free randge all summer but I still feed them each day. About 1/3 the amount I do in the winter, but they still need the food and grains to keep them laying.
Put the oyster shells in a container that they can always get to, and than mix scratch grains and oyster shells and toss them in their run, they will love scratching for them.
