Get some Orange oil and mix 1/4 cup to gallon of water add an ounce of molasses to oil and water and then either spry mounds with this mixture or drench mound with mixture. Works fast and and is from natural products. I have found it works good in Southeast Georgia. Good Luck.

Try Coconut Coir and see if that would help break up your soil. It holds moisture and breaks down over time and by introducing earth worms the will allow air in to the soil and in turn helps it to retain moisture and will help break it up. Course sand help to break up the soil as well and also...

Topic of the Week - Deworming chickens

I mix DE into the chicken feed and they get all they need to keep the worms out. I use a 1/2 cup to a 50# bag of food and that seems to work fine for me. Try it once and see if it is effective for you. If you will read the fine print you will find on most commercial feeds have some DE in the mix...

I live near a company that manufactures the gel pellets that are used in dippers. It is very expensive. I would recommend that you find out where the nearest Hydroponics store is and buy Pearl Lite or Coconut Core to use in your sandy soil. Both are excellent for holding water and nutrients...

I have both. I use gummy bears dropped in run and covered up. They can;t digest them and they die. I have used the same on voles by dropping it in their hole and let nature takes its course. I know the moles go fast but voles seem to multiply much faster or migrate from greater distances.
