    Flock is having problems.

What do/did you treat the fowl pox with? I have used 'iodine' on my hens and I have searched the I-net like crazy for something I can vaccinate my chicks with, to no avail. Most of my hens already have it so I probably won't be able to keep the chicks clear of it, but gotta try. Thanks!

    Drunk, lethargic hens

We don't have a vet around here that treats chickens. Small town.

    Drunk, lethargic hens

I put 2 cc of sulfamed per 1 gallon of water out for them. I was told this would treat the symptoms.

    Drunk, lethargic hens

They don't last 24 hrs after I see them ''moping'', they free range in our city lots only. I lost the first one about 2 months after the first treatment with ivermax. I don't keep enough feed to go bad, I purchase a few bags at a time. I have seen rat traces in the hen house, but I use sticky...

Yes, but I keep them quarantined, the only new birds are separated other than chicks hatched in my house. Just a year old or so.

3 drops under the wing. (on grown and 2 on 2 month olds) aspen ivermax, pour on for cattle (ivermectin) 5mg per ml. States it kills roundworms, stomach worms, grubs, sucking lice, mange lice and horn flies.

We use Ivermax every 6 months. Does this not take care of the parasites?

    Drunk, lethargic hens

I don't know how to check for internal parasites. They get up in the morning acting this way, the combs are normal, colorful, they eat scratch mixed with layer crumbles. I have given them some cracked corn this week (the first 2 -no cracked corn). Crops are empty in the mornings. They seem to be...

My hens are getting sick one at a time. In the last 2 months I have lost 3. They act drunk, sitting around, not roosting, real lethargic. They can't survive 24 hours. We bring them in and the next morning they are dead. Help please! What do I need to do? I have sterilized all feeders and...

We had a bantam cochin like this, gave her a baby aspirin in a corn kernal and after a few days she was out of it.
