My chicks from a Welsummer rooster with Cream Legbar hen were sexed just like the parent breeds are. It was very obvious who was whom!

I have some that started crowing at 2 1/2 weeks old, last week. Pretty darn cute!

I think they're males also. Pullets have smaller, yellow/orange combs.

Yes EE. If their combs are still yellow at this age they are most likely pullets, if they're pink or turning red they are cockerels. From my experience...

Here are a few more pictures, today at 9-10 days! I have no idea why they were standing at attention in the first picture but it lets you see the difference in the wing feathers. Please ignore the dusty blinds.

A few pictures. I have three girls and two boys.

All five hatched! The last one is struggling out the shell. So far I have 3 girls and 1 boy. Not sure on the last since it's wet. The three pullets have lighter chipmunk markings than a Welsummer and are golden brown. The male is a much lighter yellow with faint chipmunk markings. I'll get...

Updated to say that all 23 hatched! Including 10 dark brown Welsummer eggs :) I have 20 chicks! I only reported putting 20 eggs in my incubator, but the next morning (less than a day later) I added three. Those three are pipping and I hope they're out by this evening! Knock on wood 100% :)
