Found chicken sitting in snow, won't move

It's a red sex link, no visible frost bite on feet. Slight slight on the tips of comb, but I don't think thats keeping her from walking. It's been cold here in ct, below 0. My other sex links are holding up ok. She is in my house now, about 65deg.

Yesterday in Ct we got like a foot of snow. I went out to check on the chickens, and found one of them outside sitting in the snow almost covered in snow. I picked her up and placed her in the coop because I had to go to work, when I got back from work she still hadn't moved. So I took her...

    Purina exp. Date?

I just bought this bag of flock raiser at tsc. Does this mean it was made on march 22nd? Seems odd because it is a new store that just opened a month or 2 ago. Should i return it? Do you think it is ok to feed? Thank you

    Dirty, swollen butt.

I inspected the hen a little further today and i don't believe it to be vent gleet. The vent itself appears to be fairly clean, no yellow smelly discharge. The feathers bellow are a bit poopy i think because the swelling is causing the poop to hit the feathers. The area below the vent is...

    Dirty, swollen butt.

Ill try to get a picture tommorow. Not sure exactly how often she is laying, but she does lay. It is possible that she is laying slightly less though, most days i get 5 eggs, occasionally 6, (6 hens). I used to get 6 pretty much every day, but the slight decrease may be from the cold weather...

    Dirty, swollen butt.

One of my RSL hens has a dirty but area, like diarrhea dripping down her feathers. Also, the area below the vent appears to be swollen. She eats and drinks and runs around with the others as usual. The only thing i notice is she is always last to get off the roost in the morning, the others run...

    Introducing a roo

Hi, i currently have 6 red sex links, about a year old, have been living together without a roo. Someone i know has a barred rock roo that showed up on thier doorstep and they have been taking care of him alone, with no hens. If i was to take the roo, do i just throw him in there with the girls...
