I mix mine with rice hulls...both are easily scoopable and are fine enough for the poop to lay on top, dry the poop nicely, and easy to clean.

We have a pretty good-sized coop...I've attached some pictures. The roost pan is about 3 feet wide and 6 feet long...After reading the replies...I will be converting to rice hulls with PDZ...sounds like a great way to take care of the mess:)
