I caught the full moon over the coop last Friday. I thought it looked pretty cool and kind of creepy.

It was the lavender Orpington! I caught her today laying a speckled egg.

Can Lavender Orpingtons can lay speckled eggs? If it's the maran then she's laying two different color eggs.

Yes it was banded but I took the band off already. I'll have to see if my daughter has pics of them when they were still banded.

I bought a Blue Ameraucana from Meyer Hatchery but it has 5 toes. Did I get the wrong breed?

Also, this hen is a good eater so she still has bright eyes and clean face. She just can't walk anymore. We've been keeping her clean and separated from the flock.

I posted few weeks ago about my EE not being able to walk. I took her to the vet and she's not egg bound and doesn't have any broken bones. The vet said without doing more testing it could be anything... cancer, internal organ failure, etc. She prescribed antibiotics and meds for inflammation...
