I would hope she isn't like that. My hen is black and the rooster is gray. I just hope she gets used to him sooner than later otherwise I would be wasting my time with breeding these two.

Its not so much that hes not focusing all his energy on her its that she doesn't seem to care or seem to want to engage in the mating process at all. My rooster is definitely bigger than the hen and they're around the same age. My hen being a little more than a year old and my rooster...
To my knowledge, most hens don't lay till atleast 6-7 months, but then again i can be wrong. Whenever i put in nesting boxes in the coop i usually put the hens in the nesting boxes and let them examine it. This way they know its there. I've put nesting boxes in their coops before and they wont...
My hen has laid two eggs already and it still seems like she wont let my rooster mount her. Any have any suggestions on what i should do? They've been together for a little more than a week, maybe two weeks now. I've thought that maybe she isn't used to him yet? but i have other roosters and she...
My rooster has lately been losing his voice it seems like. Its been getting worst, i've noticed it about a few weeks ago. When he crows you can barely hear it. I've been giving him so tylan because its known to get rid of respiratory problems in poultry, but that doesn't seem to be doing...
I'm using an incubator for the first time. I bought the LG about 3 weeks ago set it up and also bought the automatic egg turner also. Now its the 20th day and they should hatch tomorrow on the 21st, my question is do i leave the eggs on the turner or should i take the turner off and just leave...

Well i went to go feed my chickens earlier today and i picked up one of my roos and i noticed that his upper beak was split at the tip, the split isnt huge and it wasnt like that before. The gap of the split isnt big either and it doesnt go long up the beak i want to say maybe 1/16-1/4 of an...

Yeah i was thinking that also i was going to give him a few weeks to do that see how it turns out. Because hopefully i will be showing him in january and i just wanted them to grow in nicely before then.
So my mom thought it would be cute to put my rooster in a small wire cage and when i finally noticed it this morning his feathers were all messed up. Mainly the main tail feathers, but also what got damaged were the sickles and the lesser sickles. I tried to make them look nice again with just...

No, it comes in both medicated and non medicated, and the flockraiser comes in crumbles and pellets depending on where you live. Yeah, i wish it had animal protein in it.
