Hello. I know your post is from 2009. But I’m wondering if you have a fresh link to the article you mention above your tiny url link. It only goes to buying a bottle of vaccine. I don’t see the article and would love to read it. Thanks!!
Oh wow I never new you could give them more vitamin E. Thank you! How do I know how much to give the chick. How do I give it? Is it good to treat all 6. Or just this one?
thank you so much for your help. Did you see the videos?
My little chick started acting funny when it walks fast. yesterday at day four it preens and eats and drinks and when it’s just making one or two steps it seems normal but if it tries to move quickly one of its legs shoot out backwards and it kind of stumbles. I have videos, not sure we can post...
I tried hatching eggs bought online and got 2 out of 6 hatched. (Got fantastic guidance in the incubating/hatching forum) They are amazing little poofs, but I wanted at least 4 to start my little silkie flock. I did not want to incubate more, way to stressful and I wanted to have them grow up...
Yes one leg out and kicking. Figured the was not good leverage, it is hatched now. Very strong little one. Had zipped completely around with a neat pattern of tears in the membrane but the membrane was real tough, once I put a some coconut oil on and opened some it got thru the rest😍 thank you❣️❣️
Fallenone05, thank you!!! See my previous reply, that one on the right has made progress just in the last hour!! I noticed they piped Monday at 7am. So now is over 30 hours since pip 😬. This is not for the faint of heart!!
Kiraeh, thank you!!! None have hatched yet just the two pipped. Now the one on the right has been really working the last hour and now has a leg out. Chirping strong too. I’m not sure I should do anything now??
Thank you so much for writing!!No this is my first time. What are the signs of stuckness? Oil is safe? What kind? I have read here the someone used coconut oil. I wondered how I would tell the chick was dry if it was oily? I did remove a bit of shell only. I cannot tell that there are two...
Hello. Noticed two of 4 silkie eggs pipped morning of day 19. I put them in incubator on oct 28 at 9am. I have been very diligent with temps steady between 99.5 and 100.2 with humidity 38 to 45% a few times I woke up to find the humidity at 19%. On day 18 I put humidity up to about 68%. I check...
Hi,
just getting back into chickens, had them when I was a kid long long ago🙂. Hoping to finally decide on the coop I want to build and get it done for my soon to be little flock of silkies. Have two rescued sex link hens right now. They have their own coop.
