Good afternoon. I am looking for both dozen + olive eggers and easter eggers, to be a part of the New Years Hatching. If you have any that could be shipped around the 5th, and arrive in the 30677 with enough time before sitting, please let me know.
Thank you,
Chris
I would like to purchase a mix of eggs to rebuild a multicolored egg basket. I am looking for Easter eggers, olive eggers, marans, welsummers, orphingtons, ameracaunas, and some sort of good white egg layer. Looking for a couple dozen or so, if you have the availability, or something similar...
The storm came through right at 1:00 this morning and immediately knocked out the power. My temp dropped into the 70's, so I decided to bring my bator to work, and got it plugged in at 8:30 this morning. I candled my eggs last night and had 16 going into lock down tomorrow morning...
I found this stuff on amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Netting-Bird-Poultry-Aviary-Game/dp/B001W2AG2M/ref=tag_dpp_lp_edpp_ttl_in
It seems very inexpensive, does anybody have any experience with it? My run is 24x24, with an additional 9x8 on each side of the coop. The sides are 6 ft, and I...
I have a nice brooder, but no grow out pen, is a grow out pen just another name for a coop? My serama's are taken car of, but eggs in the other bator and new eggs coming next month, I am going to need more space. What do you all do between brooder and introducing new chickens to...
Out of 14 eggs, we have 7 chicks running around, with 2 more pipping, it has been 24 hours since the first one hatched. When should I remove the chicks from the bator to the brooder?
The eggs where scheduled to hatch yesterday and today, and I do not want to risk any humidity/temp...
Set 14 eggs into lockdown on Sunday am, and expected them to hatch today and tomorrow. I had three pipped and heard little cheeps before I had to leave for work this morning!
Humidity is 65%, temp at 100%, I am loving the new Genesis so far!
I know a dark to a blue will lay olive, but what about a light brown to a blue (ameracauna) or light green (EE).
I have a RLBW for my flock roo, what will my EE that lays light green eggs offspring lay, and I will have ameracauna's before too long, what can I expect in the future?
Thank you all.
We had a BCM hatch today with a leg problem, one leg is forward (like normal) , and the other is straight back, it can not sit upright or walk. We had to help him hatch from a dry shell, and then nurse him back, so if there is anything that can be done to help the little thing, it would be...
For the people who keep and raise serama's, could you all post a pic of your coops, cages, etc. My wife would love to have some, and I would like to see what it will take to do so. I am in GA where tonights low is projected to be in the mid teens, but it is not normally this cold...
Is there a thread around to show how people who have seremas are housing them, What kind of coop/pen do they need? My wife loves them and I was thinking about our next project.
Thank you all!
What is the soonest that you can incubate (with success) a new egg layer. This is strictly a hypothetical question, as we want to enjoy our eggs for a while before they go into the bator . If they are old enough and laying, are first time layers fertile and yes, we have a mature rooster...
I was actually looking through the first egg thread while at work this afternoon, and called home to have the family check on the flock. Our girls where at 25 and 26 weeks yesterday and I knew it could/should be any day, low and behold, TODAY was day! Although we are not sure who she...
I picked up a used one a few nights ago, and both it and the egg turner seem to be working great. It is holding at 100 and I am waiting to see what the humidity is, (the hygrometer I bought from WM did not work, so I replaced it today). The unit is missing the two plugs (apparently used to...
I was planning to get a new Hovabator Genesis with turner for Christmas, but a friend of a friend just offered me a Hovabator 2362 N with a turner for $50.00. She said it is a couple of years old and has been a good one, Is this a good deal...any thoughts?
Thank you all again!
I am new and am looking to buy a couple of 22 week old pullets to add to our flock. The eggs are very dark and the chickens appear to be very healthy, is $20.00 per pullet to much to pay? I have two welsummer pullets that have not laid and I want a real nice mix of colored eggs. I...
The story goes like this...
I started with a Welsummer Roo chick that was going to be the flock roo, but he went after my daughter once and wife twice, so he had to go. Purchased 4 straight run BO's, that went 2 for 2 hens to roo's, the roo's Little Jerry and Georgia also had to go...
My 8x8 coop is 85% complete, it has three screen/glass windows that are approx. 30x32, one in the front to the left of the door and 1 on each of the sides. The coop has a 5 ft pitch with a tin roof and and I screened 2 of the 4 rafter openings (approx. 4 inches x 8 inches) per side and...
Right now in our brooder (xl dog crate) is four silkies (between 8 days and 14 days old), and 4 bo's (between 6 days and 12 days old), but we have 7 new chicks coming from MPC between tomorrow am and Thursday am. I ordered 3 welsummers (1 m/2 f), 1 ee f, 1 ba f, 1 ancona f, and 1 br f. I...
