Thank you all for input on my chickens. The buffs were definitely boys; they all began to crow, so I had to remove them from my flock. So sad and I’m concerned about my big white chicken.☹️
I’m back with a few more pics of chicks, they are now 12 weeks old. I’m so confused and I’m starting to be concerned as to whether I have pullets or cockerels. I keep checking their feathers and tails. Can you tell from this pic which is which?? I really appreciate your time and answers.
I’m so sorry to keep posting but I would like to know opinions on this white chicken, don’t know the breed. I have three pics of it and the last pic is in question too? It’s supposed to be an Americana.
Thank you for this information; not the news I was hoping for. I live within city limits and not allowed to have roosters. I’ll wait a few more weeks and begin my search for new homes.☹️ I already have a 4 yr old hen ( buff orp) that occasionally crows, she does still lay too.
I have 12 new chicks that are around 6 weeks.
I have 5 Americaunas, 3 Blue Rhode Island, 3 Buff Orphingtons, 1 mystery chick.
Since I live within city limits I’m not allowed to have any roos. ( although I do have a crowing hen at this moment 🤦🏼♀️).
So, can you help me out so I can rehome if the...
I have/had two buff Orpingtons, Thelma & Louise, both 3 yrs old and layed eggs. Louise stopped laying and began to crow and took on the role of Rooster. I live in city limits and Roosters are not allowed, so last week I was able rehome Louise. Now Thelma has taken up the crowing and is still...
I have a 4yr BO that is moving around very slowly, eats very little. She acts like she wants to eat, will pick a bit and walk away. She is extremely thin.
I recently felt her croup and it was very squishy and when I tipped her forward brown liquid poured out. Today as she leaned forward to eat...
Thank you for the info & pics. I guess I knew in my heart Lacey was a rooster, but I was really hoping for a different answer. Now the tough part....finding a home for him.
I have a 4 month old Silver Laced Wyndotte which is supposed to be a girl but I'm questioning the sex. First off, it stands taller than my other girls and the comb is much redder and it's feathering is just so different than my much older Golden Wyndotte. It even has a sickle tail feather. Help...
tamtam84-Thank you for your kind and encouraging words, but unfortunately my Ruby passed away yesterday. She did fight the good fight. I'm just glad she doesn't have to go thru this anymore.
arkansaschick- Thank you too, your suggestions were very helpful. It's so comforting to know that I can...
