My chicken laid an abnormally large egg. But she is two and a jersey giant. I went eat said egg and this is what was inside.
What is that orange thick part? Should I be worried about my hen?
What I feel like gave him away the most is I have the April hens in a separate coop and he started going in the coop with my older hens at night and roosting. He's not crowing but it's been noisier in there at 5:30am.
Extra disappointed because I spent more money on this breed than I normally...
I thought only one hen laid yesterday because only one egg was in the nesting area. It was 117 in Phoenix but turns out all these eggs were behind the coop and a broody hen was on them.
Obviously need to break the hen immediately, but should all the eggs be tossed??

Thanks. I noticed in some suggested posts that it is referred to as scissor beak. It really doesn’t sound like any of the birds in those threads made it past 5 months :/
