    Odd egg

It’s not very appetizing. I put the egg in my fridge and cooked some others. I’ll cook it up for the hens.

    Odd egg

My chicken laid an abnormally large egg. But she is two and a jersey giant. I went eat said egg and this is what was inside. What is that orange thick part? Should I be worried about my hen?

I'm disappointed because I spent a lot of money on the birds. But the others are hens.

I have a roo from Meyer that isn't crowing yet but the feathers and comb have given him away. Hatched April 18th.

What I feel like gave him away the most is I have the April hens in a separate coop and he started going in the coop with my older hens at night and roosting. He's not crowing but it's been noisier in there at 5:30am. Extra disappointed because I spent more money on this breed than I normally...

    Broody/ egg laying/ 117 degree weather

We don't have a rooster right now. But I do think those temps for over 24 hours potentially with at least a few of them makes them questionable.

    Broody/ egg laying/ 117 degree weather

I thought only one hen laid yesterday because only one egg was in the nesting area. It was 117 in Phoenix but turns out all these eggs were behind the coop and a broody hen was on them. Obviously need to break the hen immediately, but should all the eggs be tossed?? I can't believe my...

    Cause for concern?

Poor Smokey. I will try my best to care for her and make sure she eats.

    Cause for concern?

Thanks. I noticed in some suggested posts that it is referred to as scissor beak. It really doesn’t sound like any of the birds in those threads made it past 5 months :/

    Cause for concern?

Overlapped beak. Would this cause trouble eating? Hatched: 4/12 Breed: Silkie

    What is this mix?

She was in a bin at the feed store labeled Easter Eggers. Looks like a frizzle mix? She’s feisty. The most feisty in my brooder atm
