Advice needed-Cockerel suddenly sleeping on the floor and not leaving the coop in the day time.

Bad news 😢 Mash died this morning, very quickly. He seemed to be much better, even earlier this morning he was out and about reunited with his girls. An hour later I've checked on him again to find he's passed away 😭

I'll definitely try that! He was a little more active too, moving his head away when he'd had enough etc. For a few days he'd just sit there until you moved away beak touching the bowl or food but not eating.

A little bit of good news. He's eaten solid food today, the first time in a week (we'd had to make a slurry out of layer pellets previously and give it to him in a syringe). He was very happy picking at some fruit and egg today 🤞 still very lethargic but I take that as a little positive!

Ooof I might bring him into the house so we can keep a better eye on him. My husband works from home so at least he can try feeding at regular intervals. 🤞🤞

No good news today. Checked his feet again but no sign of anything obvious. Still very docile. I had hold of him trying to feed him (he ate and drank a little but not much). He seems to be sitting oddly, butt slightly in the air, but nothing around his butt that looks bad from the outside, poop...

Sadly no improvement today. We've put him in a seperate coop for now as we noticed a few of the girls pecking him as they went inside for food. Tried the scrambled eggs and he hasn't eaten any of it or corn 😔 He's just sitting there on the coop floor.

Yes, Norfolk. He wasn't very stable on the perch, but on the ground he seems OK, just sort of "tip toey" if that makes sense

He usually has this https://www.farmandpetplace.co.uk/shop/products/poultry/poultry-feed/chicken-feed/allen-and-page-layers-pellets-20kg.html I'll try him with some eggs tonight!

Advice needed-Cockerel suddenly sleeping on the floor and not leaving the coop in the day time.

Looking for some advice for our cockerel and his behaviour/what could be wrong? We believe he is a Brahma, but could be a mix. Not 100% on the age as he was a rescue, but roughly around 4-5 judging where he came from. He hasn't lost any weight as far as we can tell. He has very suddenly (3...

    Duckling going bald

Its only around 10°C at the moment and pretty wet and miserable, the end of next week looks better so I can probably take them outside then. I gave them a bath earlier which seems to have helped. I think some of it might have been food they'd picked up making it look worse. I've also added a...

    Duckling going bald

Is there anything we can do to prevent it? I mean we have anti pecking spray that we used to use on the chickens but I'm worries to use that when they're so young. Not sure it'd even have the same effect on ducks?

    Duckling going bald

Wondering if anyone can help! We have four 2 week old ducklings, 3 khakis and 1 cayuga. One of the khakis and the cayuga seem to have bald patches on their backs. It doesn't seem to look inflamed or irritated so I'm really not sure what's happening. Their fees is Allen & Page Duck Goose...

    Duck not walking!

Oh my days. Me again. After a week Wiggles was almost back to normal. Unfortunately because of the timing I was away for a week, though we had a live in baby sitter for them both. Everything was fine until about 5 days in and she was scared by a bucket of water being poured out, she ran and...

    Duck not walking!

Both sides have been fast which is why I wasn't sure what was wrong. In the morning yesterday she ran out of the coop with her sister, round around their pen and ate heartily, but at lunch time she was suddenly unable to stand or walk. After the yeast, the improvements were just as fast but I...

    Duck not walking!

Thank you! I managed to find some and gave it to her this morning. I started her on the nutritional yeast yesterday and she's already showing signs of improvement 🤞 she's managed to start standing again by herself which she couldn't do yesterday at all. It was just so sudden!

    Duck not walking!

I have managed to obtain some nutritional yeast. Will it work like the liquid complex if I dissolve it up with some food or will it not be fast enough in this situation? Struggling as it's a Bank Holiday 😖

    Duck not walking!

Thanks guys! Not much is open for the bank holiday but we managed to find some nutritional yeast that we've mashed with some normal feed/water. I'm hoping this will work until I can get some Liquid B and find a source to add permanently. I hope this works and is the problem as I'm very attached! 🤞

Ok I'll go out now and see what is still open! Unfortunately it's Jubilee weekend for us so everything is closed until Saturday! Thank you so much 🤞
