Help!! What in the kind of chicken poo is this ( if this is even what it is)??
I’ve checked all my flocks vents and I see no signs of this yellow stuff anywhere in their butts or feathers. I’m concerned and baffled.
She certainly showed no signs of distress. I take very good care of my girls and are around them several times a day. I need to except that it was something internal and nothing I did to attribute to her passing even though my heart is very saddened. Thank you.

Exactly what my husband said with free ranging. A hawk will swoop down for prey even with humans near by. Guess I will not let them free range any longer. I can’t stand the thoughts of losing any. Their run is large and protected with plenty of room to move around.

They eat grower crumbles. Mine also free range and I give back their egg shells and provide ground oyster shells. Along with fruits and greens that we have left overs of. They don’t lack in that department.
All my hens are laying now. Going to make the switch from grower feed to layer feed. I need tips on the transition. Do I go right into giving layer food or do I introduce it slowly? Thanks!
I had always wondered why the company that built our coop left gaps around both doors on ether side of the coop. Now I know it’s for ventilation. They have plenty.
