Is it possible for Cayuga ducklings to have white on them? I know that as the adults get older they slowly turn white, but is it possible for ducklings to have some white fluff on them too?
Are you sure that’s the only way out of this? I have a lot of great laying birds in this flock that still have a good year or two of laying on them, I have been putting some eggs filled with soap and mustard out again today and they have been touching them a little bit, then after a few pecks of...
I have them, but they all choose not to use them which is also frustrating. I caught one of the egg thieves this morning and locked her up in a cage with some water, do I give her food as well? How long do I keep her in there? I’m sure there’s more egg eaters I still gotta catch too.
I have a flock of about 20 hens, mostly lohman browns. I have been experiencing egg eating happening a lot lately, and is getting out of control. I got 3 eggs from them today. Should be getting my usual 1 and a half doz from them. This is so frustrating, I have them always with 17% poultry...
I contacted the breeder and he said the parents of the “partridge” ones were a blue partridge Brahma rooster and partridge Brahma hen, so would that make the offspring have a 50/50 chance of being either blue partridge or partridge? Or would the colours mix?
So I bought some Brahma chicks from a market yesterday and I got 4 PARTRIDGE and 4 GOLD PARTRIDGE. I am extremely confused as to how breeding colour variants work, is there such thing as just a “partridge Brahma”? Or is it gonna be a “blue partridge” etc. and what happens if you crossed gold...
Yes they do have a pool of water all the time, but when I do see him mating with his favourite hen, they usually do it outside of the pool, Lol. I will remove his favourite and hopefully he will start making all the other eggs fertile. He is pretty much the same shape/weight as my other pekins...
Hi, I have a group of 4 females and 1 male Pekin ducks. I have them separated in their own pen right now for the last little bit since I have been collecting their eggs for hatching, I put a dozen of their eggs in the incubator, and a week later I found that almost 10 of them never started...
Hi. I am wondering what would the goslings be like from a pure brown female Chinese goose, bred to a pure white Chinese gander? Would they be splash coloured offspring? I have never bred white Chinese geese to brown Chinese geese so I have some questions on this. Any help is greatly appreciated...
Thanks very much for the reply! Yes, Alberta is extremely cold right now, where I’m at it’s almost -50 degrees Celsius with windchill, now that’s real cold!! Thank you for the info, this is my first winter owning ducks, so some of this stuff is kind of new to me, lol. I hope that the ducks are...
Hi. I have about 12 or so female ducks. All under 2.5 years old. I have not received a single, not one, duck egg for 3 months now. I live in Alberta too by the way. I don’t give my ducks any supplemental heat, no heat lamps or anything. I feed my ducks once everyday, barley and 17% chicken layer...
Thanks for the response! I think once my goose’s laying season starts to end, I will let her sit on a clutch at the end of her laying season and she can hatch out a clutch of goslings there, the reason I don’t want her hatching her own clutch early on in season is just so she won’t stop laying...
Hey y’all, I am gearing up already for hatching goslings next spring, and was curious on letting Muscovy ducks hatch out most of my goose eggs next spring (I only have 1 pair of geese, they are Chinese geese) and I was also wondering how many goose eggs can one Muscovy hen hatch out in a clutch...
They have just started laying a couple weeks ago, the eggs are mostly about sea foam green, maybe a little more greener. I have not received any eggs yet that are actually blue yet
Hey y’all! I have some hens here that I am not sure of their breed, there is suppose to be 2 pure bred ameraucanas and 2 Easter eggers, any help on who is who in these photos would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Thanks y’all so much for the support of this sweet duck, sorry it took a while for me to post an update on her. She has plenty of other duck friends, when I took her in she came with another Pekin duck and a pair of magpie ducks as well so she is very happy. When I went to pick her up at her old...
