    Peachick sleeping and not eating

Sorry, I meant to make a reply to this. But yesterday, after finally getting the poor thing to a vet, it passed in the evening. It is very dearly missed. It managed to make it all the way through the week, to the vet appointment and most of the day, but I think it just got to be too much for...

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

I appreciate you replying so late into the night, honestly. All the help and advice I've been given today has done a great deal with the mental aspect of this. I've just weighed the chick and it came up as 42g still, though I didn't think to weigh before I fed the first batch. My current...

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

I suppose that's true. This is all still very new to me so I'm sorry if it was impolite in any way. I do have one last question though if you dont mind. Should I continue with the giving .48ml three times a day, or just go straight to .2 every two hours?

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

Well I'm hoping for the best for it. I'll be honest, I dont know how you folks do it. Just this first one being so under the weather has broken my heart.

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

It's definitely been drinking, no problems there. The drinking never really slowed down, even when swapping to ACV and water. I'll continue with the stress-less feeding, and if it starts refusing that then we'll go the hard route of direct via crop. I do have one more worry though. We did go...

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

I will keep all of this in mind for the next feeding, thank you. I did go ahead and give the chick some of the Kaytee, though I didn't go to the crop. Without certainty about the syringe or pipettes, we tried to give the bird small amounts at a time near the front of it's mouth. The chick...

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

I apologize for misunderstanding, but do you mean that I mix the kaytee feed, ground up starter, and the egg yolk? Sorry, stressed and terrified of getting it wrong. Trying to ideally save the syringing as a last resort if I can get the chick to eat. I do also have these small plastic droppers...

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

I thought I had mentioned before, but it is drinking, and does fairly often. At the moment I have it drinking a ACV and standard water mixture. Should I change it to just water while not feeding with Kaytee? I can see the video, thank you.

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

Alright, Update. Was able to get the Kaytee baby bird food. Knowing the weight, should I still proceed with 0.5ml 3/day as @KsKingBee recommends, or should I feed more often? The store owner recommended every two hours, but gave no clarification as to how much. I'm a full time home body so I...

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

I'll give all of this a try, and I'm not worried about how long it takes as long as the poor thing gets to eat. It's definitely drinking, and I've currently got an ACV (with mother) and water mixture in it's waterer right now. The best I can hope for is the ACV, and bird food to buy it a bit...

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

After doing more searching, I dont think there's going to be a way to get any Baytril, or the generic, without it being shipped or prescribed. I appreciate all of the advice, but it appears my only option is to just try to feed the chick with the baby bird food, and prepare for the worst.

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

After calling every exotic vet in my state (Arkansas), nobody will be able to see the chick until late in the week, thurs/fri. So I guess the plan is still the tube feed and Baytril

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

The weights that came in on our scale were 61g, 57g, and 42g with the latter being the one that's been worrisome. To be fair, these all sound worrisome with google saying they're born at 103g

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

Thank you for the welcome, and I do own a food scale that I can get some comparison weights on. I apologize if this is a stupid question, but for the Baytril I assume it be the 10% oral solution, and I'll try to find the KayTee feed, though I've never had to tube feed so any tips would be very...

    Peachick sleeping and not eating

Recently acquired three chicks, all now around 6 days old. Two of the three seem to be thriving just fine with healthy progression and activity (though maybe a bit of eyelid tugging which has landed them in birdy jail), however one of them is significantly less active. It's spends the majority...

    Peachicks poop looks unhealthy

We have a peachick (Very young, 4 days old, similar weight I believe) that spends most of its time sleeping, and doesn't seem to want to eat. It's poop has been runny, and has been needing to have it's vent unblocked most days. The seeming lethargy and lack of desire to eat started early this...
