    Canker not going away!

I'm thinking of getting another rooster for her but I think it's a bit too early as I cannot seem to forget him. 😅 The hen is fine. She gets lonely but now she just sits in my room while I work.

    Canker not going away!

Though it was never tested, a vet did tell me that it looked more like a tumor than a canker. It was too aggressive in the end even though it had been removed twice.

    Canker not going away!

I had to put him down unfortunately. It was a hard decision but he had been suffering for quite a while and had gotten really weak.

    Canker not going away!

He's the only Rooster I have. I also have a hen who's with him all the time and both of them are pets. I've had them for almost 4 years now.

    Canker not going away!

I cannot seem to find a proper Lab that does testing however I'm suspecting that it might not be Canker. Ronidazole isn't working and all the images I've seen online have canker as yellowish, sharp patches on sides of mouth but my Rooster has whitish, smooth patch at the back of throat. Could it...

    Canker not going away!

Went to a Vet on the same day who managed to pull most of it out. There was some bleeding and it healed but there's a white patch on the same place again and it came back almost within 24 hours. I'm not sure if it's Canker or what because I'm treating him with Ronidazole. He's lost a lot of...

    Canker not going away!

@azygous Yesterday a part of the Lesion in the Rooster's throat seemed a bit detached so I tried pushing it a little with a Q-tip but it was too hard. Today when I checked his throat again, it had this whole thing stuck in the throat. There's still a lot of it left but it looks like a bit of...

    Canker not going away!

It is a possibility, but then again, there are also a few pigeons that have been visiting our place for the past few months which could've been infected with canker. I also have a hen with the rooster but she's doing fine. I'm assuming the virus would clear itself after a few weeks but it's...

    Canker not going away!

I'm going to ask a few Vets if they do this kind of testing.

    Canker not going away!

I'm confused by the diagnosis as well. I started off with metronidazole but when it didn't work in 14 days, I changed to Doxycycline + Nystatin for a few days which didn't have any effect as well. I've been giving him ACS + Metronidazole since Tuesday but it didn't have any major effect...

    Canker not going away!

@azygous Metronidazole and ACS don't seem to work as the canker is still there and doesn't seem to be going away. I'm going to change to Ronidazole now but I'm not sure about its dosage.

    Canker not going away!

One thing I wanted to confirm, should I use metronidazole along with ACS or not?

    Canker not going away!

Thanks for the help! I really hope he recovers. I see minor bleeding on one side of the canker after giving him ACS mixed water since morning. Really hope that's an indicator of the canker coming off from his throat.

    Canker not going away!

Thanks for the instructions, I'll create this solution for the rooster. I have attached more clear pictures now. The canker is only in the throat. I do not see any patches in the mouth or below the throat.

    Canker not going away!

Before surgery, yes. There isn't a lot of yellow patch right now but the rooster is too lethargic.

    Canker not going away!

I'm from Pakistan. The Rooster is a pet and has access to small garden for free ranging and has another hen as well. I haven't seen the rooster consume a lot of insects as compared to the hen as he's more interested in grains and fruits. I have attached the image of his throat and his recent...

    Canker not going away!

What's the recommended dosage for a Rooster that's almost 1 Kg? I'm hand feeding him at the moment so I'll have to administer the water through a dropper as he's to scared to eat by himself due to the recent surgery.

    Canker not going away!

I have a 3 y.o. Rooster who had a yellowish patch at the back of his throat a month ago. It started out small and I was only able to notice it when one day he didn't crow. I took him to a Vet and he gave him metronidazole 100mg twice a day, some electrolytes, and cotrim. I gave him the...
