Several weeks ago, I bought 5 laying hens. I know the other 3 breeds, but not sure about these two birds. What are your thoughts? Thanks!!

Covered up with Roos, is this another?

I am concerned more with the comb that anything else. He/She is ten weeks old. I have 2 Amerecauna girls just like this one that are about five months old and don't have a prevalent comb. What are your thoughts? Thanks, Jonathan

Do you think I have another Bantam Roo on my hands?

From what I remember all 3 of these are the same age, which I can't remember exactly. I want to say 7-8 weeks old. Do you think it's a roo? My opinion is, it's a roo, but would like some input. Thanks!

What type of Bantam rooster is this?

We got him from a swap one day from some people who no longer wanted him. He looks much better now that we have had him for awhile. His tail has grown out and is really starting to look like a beautiful bird. He has green tint as most black chickens do, but now he has yellow/orange stripes...

    Did she change her mind?

I know this is a silly question, but I'm starting to be more interested as these chicks get older. I bought 4 True Blue Americaunas from a local guy. He has all of the proper certifications and gaurantees his chicks. He said, this one is a female, unless she changes her mind. I'm starting to...

    Eggs have stopped coming....

OK, I've read other comments and still don't feel good about what's going on, so I'm going to ask. I have 9 hens, I had 10, but one died about two weeks ago. She was the same age as the others, which are less than a year old. Her comb went from red to light red, almost white. She ended up dying...

    Egg Situation

OK. My hens have been laying for about 2 weeks now...it increases every day as more of the hens start laying. I have 10 hens. 4 Rocks, 2 Brahmas, 3 Golden Comets and 1 Jersey Giant ( I think). For the most part all of the chickens lay brown eggs in the box just as I would expect. One day, I had...

Let's all share the same box!

I have 3 laying boxes inside the main box that I built. They all use the same one, which is the middle box. They will even stand in line until the current laying hen is finished. Is this normal? I have 10 hens.

    All Piled Up

I have 10 hens and 1 rooster in a 8x8 coop and every night they all pile up on top of each other in one corner of the coop at a window. I think this is odd with all of the room that they're given as well as roost that they can sleep on. Is this odd or regular chicken behavior? Thanks!!

    Cracked Egg

As I do everyday, I go to see if my smallest Rock had laid her egg for the day as she has been carrying the weight of my other 9 hens that haven't started laying. Then to my suprise, I have 3 eggs in the box! YAY....one egg, which was the largest was cracked in several places. Is this a sign...

    Rooster protective over one hen

We have Barred Rock rooster that is typically ok around people. But the other night, my daughter was bent down to pet one of the chickens and the rooster flew up on her back. Then yesterday, I was around one of the chickens and he came at me, then my fiance told me last night when she was...
