Aww poor Pedro. She’s so beautiful though!
Initally I thought the problem was somewhere near my bird’s hips too, but now I know it isn’t. Let’s hope both of our quails will get better soon :)
Personally I wouldn’t worry about Pedro making a whistling noise as she breathes. I had a 3 year old...
Well, the scales on her legs look weird, they are damaged and ugly. It doesn’t look that bad but it’s noticable. I’m so dumb for not recognizing the problem earlier! I’ll start treating her when I get home. Oh and also the joint of the leg that she is able to use started to swell up. Poor bird!
Yes, but then I told him we already tried that medicine about like what, half a year ago? He must have forgotten. It wasn’t succesful though, because we had to mix it with so much water that she wasn’t able to swallow it at once. It was a torture for that poor bird. He said there’s also a tablet...
Yesterday we went back and this time the vet we usually go to was there. I told him not to hold her upside down because she almost choked the day before. He gave us some drops for her feet. He also told me the panting and wet sneezing is due to some kind of chronic illness. She has fluid in her...
Aww I’m so sorry :c
We’ve been to the vet, it looks like he doesn’t know much about birds. He held my poor bird by the wings and turned her on her back…she was choking. She already had respiratory problems but now her breath sounds even more watery. Anyways she got a vaccination of some sort and...
Thank you so much
I’m also considering giving her millets and cracked wheat instead of just chicken feed, along with some vitamins because she doesn’t really eat the fruits and greens I offer her.
Update on my bird: She still hasn’t improved. She doesn’t put pressure on one leg. I think it might be a joint problem, because she doesn’t let me touch her hock. It doesn’t seem swollen though. Also she’s getting a bit overweight (my other bird died at the age of 3 and now she’s all alone so...
Oh I know why it broke off, it did so because I’m a horrible quail mom.
I was in a hurry because I was supposed to leave home for 3 weeks and I saw that there’s a lot of dried poop on that nail, so I tried to gently scratch it off (my mother was feeding my birds while I was away and I know she...
Yes, she’s been this way for almost a year. She’s not stressed at all, she’s calm. My two birds are in a cage in my room (it’s a guinea pig cage I think, it’s big enough for two birds) so I don’t know about the airflow, but the other quail is fine. Allergies might be a cause of the problem here...
Hello all
I’ve had this coturnix quail for about a year now, and she’s been having problems. She started constantly panting a month after I bought her, we’ve been to the vet but the medicine he gave didn’t help. She also has difficulties swallowing…I’d attach a video of that if I knew how to :/...
