    The Welsummer Thread!!!!

Yes, that is the hazards of shipped eggs. My ratio was all over the book on the shipped eggs I received, anywhere from 0 out of 16 to 4 out of 6. Depends on the postal worker's attitude that day I guess Glad you got one, but more would have been nice.

    The Welsummer Thread!!!!

Hi there, Just one thing popped out when reading this - birds can get too much fat around their vent to lay easily. I would cut out the BOSS - it tends to go straight to fat. I was reading on another thread where somebody had a hen that was laying fewer and fewer eggs and finally quit. That...

I looked them up and I am still confused, Bellecross sells Gold Duckwing Welsummers and Partridge Welsummers - but I did not see any Silver Welsummers. I have never heard of Gold Duckwing Welsummers - only the standard Partridge color which is all I have ever seen. The Silver Hen looks like...

    The Welsummer Thread!!!!

Do you have an older lead hen? Sometimes it is good to throw an aggressive hormone-driven teenage boy in with a much older Hen - she will teach him some manners, after beating the tar out of him...

    The Welsummer Thread!!!!

Very cute eggs... Um... do you have more than one dark egg layer? I have seen eggs have a slight color change, but not a color and shape change. That middle egg does not belong to the two outer eggs. I suspect two hens are laying.

    The Welsummer Thread!!!!

What is so difficult on those is that their chest feathers are saying girls - but the first one's comb is saying boy. I have a few Wellies too - and I had a cross that was from a green egg (Olive Egger) and both of them looked exactly like the Wellies and the BOY had girl chest feathers - but...

    The Welsummer Thread!!!!

They both look like my Easter Eggers. Both are Female. I guess you don't know the color of the eggs or you would know they were female. Let us know what color eggs they lay. I think they are mixed breed birds.
