I am certainly not an expert, but they look like decent enough birds to me. The pictures look like they could be our on birds a few weeks back. The rooster especially looks like mine and, as I understand it, the comb may have too many points. I could be wrong, but I think it's supposed...

Well the birds in that picture sure look like BCMs. Could the prince be raising a French breed?!?!?!
Since you've brought nationalism into, maybe Chuck should stick to something more Anglican then. Maybe some Orpingtons or Sussex. After all, there have been a number of Anglo-Dutch...
RE: Prince Charles
The rooster made me question whether they're Wellies too. I wouldn't have a hard time believing that they were actually Welbars, which is an autosexing cross b/t a Wellie and BR. According to what I've read, they were once pretty popular in the UK.
I figured I throw a couple of shots of my roo on here. He's starting to fill in pretty nice, but he's got some flaws. He'd probably never go to anything more than a county fair anyway. He's a pretty decent roo. He's decent to the hens and the kids, so I guess we'll keep him around for a while. I...
1_FnkyFrm,
Funny how that happens. I saw the parents of my Wellies too. Out of the six, I have one rooster who is probably 1/2 BCM or Langshan, a hen that has black legs (thinking Langshan as well) and hen that is somewhat patterned like a Wellie but much more red in color. I'm not very happy...

I think it could be. I have some that looked very similar a 6-7 weeks. I would wait for another opinion though, as I'm not sure about the quality of my Welsummers just yet.

I'm new to Wellies also, but DANG I hope my roo biscuit grows into that. Unfortunately his brother, Gravy, has feather stubs on one of his feet.

Biscuit (roo) @ 4 weeks
I have another little roo, Gravy, who is feathered up much better. Biscuit, however, seems to be concentrating on his size rather than feathering. I wish he'd put on the feathers quicker, I'd like to put him outside soon.

The chick in the first and last photo with the extra spot behind the eye, have you (or anyone else) seen much of that? I have one hen producing those and I figured it is actually a Pene X Wellie and I sell them as unsexed, dark egg layer mutts as Pene of both sexes have markings on...
Wednesday evening I picked up 6 Wellies from a breeder nearby. When I decided that I wanted to start a flock, I really wanted them but couldn't find them locally. So, I decided that I would just get half-of-a-dozen pullets from the feed store to start out. I ordered the feed store chicks and the...
