What are some major differences in show-quality Welsummers. I have a pullet near POL, and I'd like to assess her before a show -my first-ever- for DQs and such. The patterned part of the color is hard to tell for me.

They sure do go through an ugly duckling stage, don't they? These are hatchery chicks I got at our local Ace Hardware. They've turned into a great chicken resource. I've got 15 on order from Whitmore Farm to arrive sometime in March and April. I can't wait to see how they all turnout!

I am hoping to get some Welsummer chicks this winter or spring. I am really coveting those speckled eggs. I heard they have a nice temperment, too. Anyone know of anyone in Arizona who breeds them?
