We have 6 hatched, 1 working it's way out (but it seems very tired and weak), 1 pip, and 8 more with no activity yet. We're on day 22. After seeing how dry the membranes were on the hatched chicks I can't help but worry about the others.

I am worried. I wonder if my humidity has been too low all along. Or maybe the little birds are just too big for their eggs. They all seem to be pipping, but not able to zip and their membranes appear very white and dry. Should I be helping? watching? going out and leaving them to do their thing?

He is a black australorp. I have 12 of those eggs and 2 australorp/white leghorn crosses.

I am so worried about my eggs. Day 20 today, no peeps, no wiggles. Is this normal? I did have a temperature drop and then spike about 4 days ago. If they are all dead would they smell bad at this point? Or do I just have to wait a few more days to find out? Lindsay
