I live in the mountains of Washington state so heat really isn't much of a problem except like 2 weeks a year. We are doing research now on lgd breeds.
Thats what we are thinking. We have never kept dogs outside though. They have always been members of our family. I dont know about the whole locking the dogs outside thing.
Eagle killed two more two more today. Now hes not even eating them. Hes tearing the feathers out and leaving the carcasses. We are keeping all of our birds locked inside now. We hate doing that but as far as we can tell via a head count today we have lost 16 birds in 3 weeks. We cant afford...
We are discussing a livestock guarding dog or animal. Emus are totally out as are big heavy animals like llamas due our muddy ground half the year. Ive never had a lgd.... I will have to do research on them.

I figured they would tell me im up a particular creek without a paddle but this eagle isn't leaving. Hes here EVERY day killing my birds an i saw it kill and eat my neighbors cat right in thier front yard in broad daylight. Hes apparently decided hunting fish or wildlifes too much hassle so...
We have an extremely large adult bald eagle killing our chickens. On a small er commercial farm like our even loosing one bird is a blow. What can we legally do about the eagle??
