SE, I did the pumpkin butter using your same recipe. Filled the crockpot with cubed pumpkin, 3 cups sugar and 3 tbs. pumpking pies spice. Mine cooked on high for over 11 hours. Ran the hand mixer through it and water bathed it for 15 min. It's great! I just ran with your idea so thanks...
Charmed, I peeled it. Someone brought to my attention about not canning pureed pumpkin, but I can't see how cooking it for 10 hours on high and then water bath for 15 min isn't going to kill all germs. It tastes great!
Hey everybody, I made this recipe 2 times already and today I chopped up a whole pumpkin and dumped it in the crockpot with sugar and pumpkin pie spice! Hopefully by late this afternoon I'll have pumpkin butter! Will let ya know if it is a success or not! Great day all!
