thank you! Yes it was really hard to believe!! The egg was bigger but nowhere near big enough for two or at least I thought!! :gig I soo wish they could have made it!
Hello! Just thought I'd share how crazy scovy incubation can be! I had a huge egg last night that had not one but two ducklings in it!! Sadly neither made it but how crazy is a twin egg? Trying to perk myself up a bit!
just noticed the little sepia looking one up front!! What does daddy look like? I would love to have that little one! Can you pm me where are you located?
Thank you. Don't take my word, lol... I'm struggling with all colors but black and white:he I'm going by what I was told also:rolleyes:
[/quote :lau I hear ya!! Yes I think I definitely have down white the black is still difficult :gig is it pied is it barred!? Lol so many things to learn!!
congrats! You soo have to post pics of the lings when they get here!! What does you blue pied look like? I'd love to see her!! I've got a lavender pied but have not seen an actual blue!!
their normal incubation under mama is 35 days and then you have to be sure As to when she started sitting she will sometimes sit for a few while laying an egg but not truly be sitting! We marked our calendar the second day she didn't leave the nest for anything longer than a drink and some food...
once they're broody they tend to stay that way for a bit there are threads that actually talk about having to "break" Muscovy hens from being broody so you might still be OK!! Good luck!!
:highfive: Congrats!!! Hopefully all goes well!!! Do you have any guineas? We have 3 and there's not a snake on our 15 acres that's safe from them!! :lau
Absolutely!!! Couldn't have said it better!! The snakes the mud the preds all suck but not as bad as the people and their attitudes in the city!!!#nevergoingback!

Thank you. :fl for your broodies. WOW, that's a serious girl or do they all start another nest right after??

Good to know.

[/quote. This is our very first time for all of our broody girls so I don't know if its normal for them to "sync" up or if the breeding season brings it on...
