*nods* I've had to give grit to chicks who hadn't been out of the shipping box for 10 minutes because they spotted ants or small moths in the brooder (I brood outdoors), and started snapping them up).

What sort of ground are they on? For many people, the soil the chickens have access to has the grit they need. :)
