    OK, it was the angle of the photo that made it look odd. I'd say you've got a little cockerel with the prominent comb and the red wattles.

    Those red wattles suggest male, but are you 100% sure that's an Australorp? A male Australorp at that age should have a big single comb visible. Like this little boy who was 3 weeks and 6 days in this photo: Can you get clearer photos of the comb from a couple different angles?
