You're not kidding they reduce weed growth. I don't think there's one weed under all the squash and pumpkins I have.

All seed for the three sisters were bought off a Burpee rack at a big box store.Not real happy with the corn seed, some grows, some don't. The rest of the seed has done well. Last year I saved seed from my zuchini, tomatoes, cukes, pumpkins, and EVERYTHING has grown, so I will save seeds again...

Here's a pic of my garden, in the front are pumpkin plants and in the back you can see some of the corn stalks and the winter squash surrounding them.
