So now, this is where the box is going should I push in more to put a roost on top? Or leave it where it is with no roost and just do roost on back side where there is nothing? Here's the outside What do you all think push in or leave?

Its going to be an external nest box, i figured I would put it under the window on the side that doesnt have hinges on it. that way there would be more room on the inside for roosts to go long ways inside coop>?n Whats sweet pdz?

If you have looked at my pics should I place nest box under the window or on the back wall? Another words should the nest be parallel with pop door or adjacent (side)?

Which one would you prefer for watering the screw in nipples or the screw in cup kind?

How big should the nest boxes be? If I have 6 hens...2 or 3 ...what 14x14x14? Edit: I haven't even started on them so help with them would be greatly appreciated !

Yea they are round dowls 1-1/4" they are 27" wide and there are 3 of them and you say 12" from the wall! Wow I hope I have enough room ....should the nest box be under the window or on the back side? I guess I will go back to the drawing board lol

Well here's update I did what ya'll told me to do but I think I made roost ro big? What do you guys think? Cut the 2x2 in half right there at the joists? And just let the 1x4 rest on base of coop?

Oh yea duh! That's right! I will put pop door on other side...I will do windows then ...its only 1/4 inch so I will have to do some reinforcing...I'm in south Carolina so I will probably do sand then. Sand in whole bottom?

Yea, you guys are really having me re think the hardware cloth for at least bottom half... I might just change that out wouldn't be much to do. I was thinking The pop door is going to be near the human door....I haven't done any ventilation yet bc I wanted to ask you guys should I put windows in...

No actually the whole reason I went with the CW was bc the coop will actually be inside a chain linked fence and the size (w) was exactly what I needed ...couldn't find the actual (w) size I needed in Hardware....Question tho what's pros and cons with sand floors? Inside hen house or run?

Well to be my first coop ever coming along quite nice....just looking for some ideas for the roost, laying box and flooring? Any ideas would be gratefully wanted! The open side of the hen house is going to be on hinges for easy cleaning.
